Yeomen U16 are 2011 Ontario Champions! (November 1, 2011)
In September the Yeomen U16s played in the Ontario Blue Plate Championship Game and won! This year's team was amazing in so many ways; they played hard practiced hard and also liked to have fun. We started the season with 28 good athletes and we ended with 28 Yeomen. They started gelling almost from the first practice and continued to improve every week. In the final we played Barrie RFC who where a big and well coached side. The game was played with true Yeoman grit and spirit to the joy of the Alumni in attendance; in particular Smitty and Carlos. In the end we were victorious by a score of 27-5; it was the perfect end to a perfect season.
Larry and I thank our players for working so hard and making this summer a very memorable one for both of us. A special thanks also to Rob, Mark and Dave for directing there players to the club, keep them coming. Last, but certainly not least, the parents for all there enthusiastic support; in particular the "YOMAMAS" who were amazing!

Our U16 boys continued their great play in a playoff tournament on Saturday. Although we lost the first game 7-5 on the last play of the game against Peterborough, we roared back to beat Ajax 24-5 and then the Saracens 19-5. Coach Rick Bria and the boys are now preparing for the final to be held on Sept 11 at Fletcher's Fields vs Barrie. Kick-off time is at 2:30 pm.
Yeomen U18 Great Season Ends in Semis (August 26, 2011)
The Yeomen U18 played a semi-final game against a well prepared and more experienced Georgian Bay team. We started well and played solid defence through the end of the first half, unfortunately, as the second half took shape we were somewhat starved of possession and were unable to execute the game plan. All in all, there is a great deal to be proud of as this was a turnaround season for the U18 team as we continue to build the program moving forward. Great effort this year from the boys which was matched by an outstanding work from coach Trevor Figueira.

U18s Out-will and Outlast Wanderers (July 22, 2011)
Another great effort during this week's 22-15 win over the Wanderers. Both sides were up for a physical match, ultimately our will to win was greater than theirs, including a committed goal line defensive stand in the final minute of play. Bring on North Halton next week at Fletchers!!

U18 Get Character Win (July 15, 2011)
Last night the U18s had a real "character win" against Oshawa. They were down 12-0 at the half due to a slow start, and in the second half they mounted a classic Yeomen effort, controlled the majority of possession, and put together 4 very well supported multi-phase tries. The final score was 20-17. There is much to be proud of after this effort, and look forward to the Ajax game next week at Fletchers.
No U16 Game this week.....Enter ORU Tournament (July 15, 2011)
The U16s will not be travelling to Niagara this Saturday, as the Wasp have forfeited.
On another note the U16s have entered in the rugby Ontario U16 tournament taking place at Fletchers on July 23rd and 24th.
U18 Lose Tough Battle vs Saracens (July 8, 2011)
The U18s had a tough 19-10 loss to the Saracens last night. The boys played 2 separate games in one; in the first half they played hard but had some mental errors which yielded 3 tries for the Saracens. In the 2nd half, they settled down and dominated the entire half, scoring 2 tries and a 3rd one that was not given due to the referees judgment of a "double movement" grounding of the ball.
Most importantly, when they were down by 3 tries at the half there was no quitting, weand they showed character and finished with a very strong 2nd half performance.
U18 Open Season with Win (July 4, 2011)
Our U18s kicked off their season with an impressive 32 – 17 win over Peterborough. Playing with just 14 players this group of determined Yeomen played a game built on determination and ball control. This team showed that hard tackling, discipline and effort will produce victories.
With graduation behind us and support from some U16s we look forward to a great season!
Yeomen keep rolling, beat Brock (June 29, 2011)
Another solid effort resulted in a second consecutive win, this time avenging a game 1 loss to Brock. The effort was led by steady play of Stevie Staffieri and his goal kicking was the difference in the score (100$ for points).

Yeomen President Honoured as Outstanding Principal (May 29, 2011)
We are very proud to announce that our president Domenic Scuglia was named one of Canada's Outstanding Principals by The Learning Partnership. Many Yeomen have benefited greatly by the guiding hand and words of wisdom that Dom has selflessly provided to generations of high school students and young rugby players. His abilities and effort helped shape many boys into the men they are today. These efforts are only surpassed by his undying passion for his family, friends, education, rugby and the Yeomen.
As individuals and as a club we are forever in debt to Dom, we all both thank you and congratulate you on this prestigious honour!
