Yeomen have great year, Awards Night and AGM to follow (September 3, 2010)

Well let me begin by congratulating all of you for a great season! We have experienced many successes this past year; a tour to Rochester where we were crowned champs, a U16 team participate in a Rugby Ontario final, a committed group of U18 boys who played their best game in and game out,the development of a competitive second team and an appearance in the TRU second place final, and the emergence of our first team to achieve playoff success for the first time in five years and lose humbly to a polished Belleville team. We have a lot to look forward to for next year and your executive will be sharing our plan for next year at the AGM at a date in January. However, before we do that we need to celebrate our achievements and soon we will set a date for our Awards Night and hope that each of you will make every effort to attend.

Yeomen look to compete in Fall Cup (September 3, 2010)

We hope you are interested in continuing to play rugby, Todd has offered to coach the interested participants in the Fall Cup.   This is another playoff tournament beginning September 11 that we are eligible to compete in and a great way to build on our success this year.  You need to let Anthony Perri or Todd know ASAP of your intention to commit. Remember it is important that each of you work on improving your fitness over the winter months so that we keep steering the club in the right direction.

You can reach Anthony at aperri@gmail.com

Findlay is one of Ontario's finest (July 26, 2010)

Our very own Stuart Findlay has been selected by Rugby Ontario to be part of 20 referee's across Ontario who will focus on honing their referee skills over the next few years.  Congrats and keep up the great work!

Pink Ladies Day 2010 (June 24, 2010)

When the Yeomen visit the Toronto Buccaneers on June 26th they will be hosting their annual "Pink Ladies Day" at Sunnybrook Park.  Enjoy a full afternoon of rugby followed by celebrations and raffle prizes at our sponsor pub the Fox & Fiddle Leaside.

The idea of the day is to raise funds for our chosen Charity of "Rethink Breast Cancer" as well as giving our partners a day to come and enjoy the sport of rugby.

So be sure to bring your wives, girlfriends, mothers, sisters, or any other special lady in your life and help us all find a cure for breast cancer.  Last year they managed to raise over $1500 in support for the cause and this year our aim is to do even better!

They are asking for a donation of $5 from everyone attending, which will also include an automatic entry into the raffle to take place at the Fox & Fiddle Leaside following the rugby games. Additional tickets for the raffle will be made available for purchase, and we will be selling food and refreshments at the pitch as well.   All proceeds from the day will go towards helping find a cure for breast cancer by way of a donation to Rethink Breast Cancer.

Come out and show your support, and don`t forget to wear something pink!
